Most people start selling on Vinted with a wardrobe, not a plan. The useful questions are which of those clothes will sell, what Vinted won't let you list, and what to do once the good pieces are gone. This guide answers all of them with Vinted's own rules and fees.
Quick answer: the best things to sell on Vinted are branded clothes that buyers search for by name. That means high-street labels such as Zara, H&M and Next, sportswear and trainers from Nike and Adidas, denim such as Levi's 501s, good outerwear, children's clothing bundles and small accessories. Vinted charges sellers nothing to list or sell. Buyers pay the shipping and a Buyer Protection fee at checkout, so a light, searchable item priced below retail is the one that moves.
- Brand and size sell the item. Buyers type a label and filter by size, so an unbranded piece rarely comes up in search.
- Buyers see the full checkout total. Shipping and Buyer Protection sit on top of your price, so a heavy, cheap item looks expensive.
- Bundles clear slow stock. Kids' clothes in particular sell well grouped by age and season.
- A standard account is for your own things. Vinted says buying stock to resell at a profit needs a Pro account.

What does Vinted sell?
Vinted is a marketplace where members sell second-hand items to each other. Its tagline is "Sell and buy clothes, shoes and accessories", and clothing is still the heart of the app. The catalog is wider than that, though. Vinted's help center lists the categories you can sell in: Women, Men, Designer, Kids, Home, Electronics, Entertainment, Hobbies & collectables, and Sports.
So when you work out what to sell on Vinted, look past the wardrobe. Books, board games, homeware, small electronics and toys all have their own sections and their own buyers. Clothes remain the easiest place to start, because buyers can filter them by brand, size and condition in a couple of taps.
The best things to sell on Vinted
The items below share two traits. A buyer can find them by typing a brand or item name, and they are light enough that shipping doesn't push the checkout total past the price of a new one in a sale. They are grouped by type, not ranked, because what sells fastest depends on the season and on what you own.
| Item type | What buyers type into search | Listing tip |
|---|---|---|
| High-street clothing | Zara, H&M, Next, M&S, Mango plus a size | Put brand, item and size in the title |
| Sportswear and trainers | Nike, Adidas, Sambas, Air Force 1, tracksuits | Photograph the soles and the size label |
| Denim and vintage | Levi's 501, 90s, Y2K, Carhartt | Give waist and leg measurements |
| Outerwear | The North Face, Patagonia, puffer, rain jacket | List at the start of the season |
| Children's clothing | Age range plus season or brand | Bundle pieces from the same age range |
| Designer and luxury | Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Gucci | Show receipts, codes and close-ups |
| Accessories and small bags | Bags, belts, scarves, jewelry | Photograph hardware and lining |
| Books, games and toys | Series titles, LEGO sets, Jellycat | Sell a series or set together |
High-street labels
Zara, H&M, Next, M&S and Mango are the names buyers already know. They trust the sizing, so they buy without trying anything on, and they can compare your price with the shop's in seconds. Price below what a similar new item costs in a sale, and put the brand first in the title.
Sportswear and trainers
Branded sportswear has buyers all year. In the trend data Vinted released for 2025, reported by Stylist, Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren and Adidas were the brands with the most devotees. Trainers need clear photos of the soles, the heel and the size label, because wear shows there first.
Denim and vintage
The same 2025 data put Levi's 501s on top of the jeans members hunted for. Older pieces have their own pull too. In Vinted's luxury trend update of May 2024, its senior brand expert said there was demand for vintage pieces from the 80s and 90s on the second-hand market. Denim sizing varies by cut and era, so give the waist and inside leg in your description.
Outerwear
Coats and jackets from The North Face, Patagonia and Carhartt are searched by name. They are also heavy, which means a larger parcel and a higher shipping charge for the buyer. List them as the weather turns, and price them so the total still looks fair next to a new jacket in the sales.
Children's clothing bundles
Children grow out of clothes before they wear them out, and parents shop by age range. A bundle of one size and one season, photographed laid out together, is easier to buy than ten separate listings. It also saves the buyer paying for several parcels.
Designer and luxury
Vinted's luxury data covering January 2020 to April 2024 named Louis Vuitton, Chanel and Gucci as the leading brands across Europe. These pieces sell for more, and buyers check them hard. Keep the receipt, the dust bag and any serial or date code, and photograph the stitching, hardware and logo stamp up close. Counterfeits are banned outright.
Accessories and small bags
Belts, scarves, small bags and jewelry fit in a small parcel, so shipping adds little to the buyer's total. Photograph the hardware, the inside lining and any brand stamp. Measurements matter more than you'd expect for bags, because photos make sizes hard to judge.
Books, games, homeware and toys
These sit in the Entertainment, Home, and Hobbies & collectables sections. Series and box sets sell better together than as single volumes. Toys with a collector following, such as LEGO sets and Jellycat soft toys, are searched by name, so use the set number or the exact toy name in the title.
What not to sell on Vinted
Two different questions hide in this one: what Vinted allows, and what isn't worth your time.
On the first, Vinted's catalog rules and help center set out what can't be listed. The main groups are:
- Counterfeits and anything that copies a brand's name or logo.
- Used cosmetics, sanitary products and medicines.
- Food and drink of any kind.
- Weapons, and sharp knives or bladed tools with a pointed tip.
- Electrical devices that don't work, and heated tobacco or vape-related items.
- Stolen items, including blocked phones.
Other members can flag a listing that looks like it breaks the rules. Vinted then hides items that need changes and gives you 24 hours to fix them, removes prohibited items, and can suspend accounts for repeated breaches. Read the rules before you upload a box of mixed items.
On the second question, the same few things tend to sit unsold:
- Unbranded fast fashion. There is no name to search for, so the listing only shows up for people scrolling a category.
- Heavy items at low prices. The buyer pays for a large parcel, and the total stops looking like a bargain.
- Worn-out basics. Buyers want a low price, but they still notice bobbling, stains and stretched necklines.
- Items with flaws that need a paragraph to explain. Long disclaimers put buyers off and invite disputes.
How Vinted fees and shipping work for sellers
Vinted's pricing is simple for sellers. Its help page on selling fees says: "There are no fees for uploading your items or selling them on Vinted." Its selling basics page adds that you can list as many items as you like.
The costs land on the buyer instead:
- Shipping. Vinted says buyers cover the shipping costs, and the rate depends on the parcel size and where the buyer and seller are.
- Buyer Protection. A mandatory fee on every order that is usually 3% to 8% plus £0.30 to £0.80, added at checkout.
Once an item sells, you must send it within 5 business days. When the order is completed, Vinted says your payment arrives within 2 days.
What you keep is your listed price, less whatever you spend on packaging. The catch is on the buyer's side. They see your price plus shipping plus Buyer Protection, and they compare that total with a new item. Cheap, bulky pieces lose that comparison. Small, branded pieces win it.
If you want to set Vinted against other resale apps before you list everything, our guide to reselling websites and what each one charges lays out the fee models side by side. For fashion in particular, how Depop and eBay compare covers the other two apps most clothing sellers try.
How to make money quickly on Vinted
Speed on Vinted comes from being easy to find and easy to say yes to. These habits do most of the work:
- Start with your best branded pieces. Twenty good listings teach you more than a hundred rushed ones, and they sell first.
- Write searchable titles. Brand, item, size and color, in the order a buyer would type them. The same rules apply to listing titles that get found on eBay.
- Shoot in daylight. Use a plain background, show the label and the size tag, and photograph any flaw close up.
- Price against similar listings. What you paid doesn't matter to a buyer. What the same item sells for on Vinted does.
- Offer bundle discounts. A buyer who likes one item from your wardrobe will often take two if the second saves them a parcel.
- List before the weekend. Vinted's 2025 trend data named Sunday as the most popular day for sales on the app.
- Ship fast. Vinted gives you 5 business days, but payment only follows a completed order, so sending the next day gets you paid sooner.
Cheap items can still move. In the same 2025 data, women's wellies were the best item that sells for £5 or less. For more ideas on fast sales beyond Vinted, see what you can sell for quick cash, and for a wider look at clothing platforms, our guide on how to sell clothes online.
Is it worth selling on Vinted?
For clearing your own wardrobe, yes. There is no seller fee, listing is free, and Vinted handles the payment while the buyer picks and pays for shipping. The limit is supply. You own a fixed number of good pieces, and once they sell, what's left is the stock nobody wanted. Nobody can promise you a monthly figure from selling your own clothes, because it depends entirely on what you happen to own.
That raises the question many sellers ask next: what's best to resell on Vinted? Read Vinted's rules on commercial selling first. They say "standard accounts can't be used to sell items professionally. This includes buying or sourcing items and reselling them at a profit." If you sell to make a profit, Vinted asks you to sign up as a Pro seller, and Vinted Pro requires you to be registered as a business (sole traders, non-profits and companies can join).
So once your own wardrobe is empty, there are three realistic routes:
- Stop. Treat it as the clear-out it was and keep the money.
- Flip second-hand finds. Charity shops and car boot sales can supply stock, but you'd be selling as a business, and every item costs you a trip and a search. Our guide to flipping items for profit covers this route.
- Source from suppliers. Choose products with evidence of demand, buy them from a supplier who can provide them again, and sell them on a marketplace with broader categories. This is what people mean by starting a reselling business rather than a clear-out.
None of these is automatically right. Only the third grows past what you can carry home, and it is a real business with real costs and real risk.
When the wardrobe runs out: sourced stock on eBay
eBay suits the third route better than Vinted does. Its categories go well beyond clothes, and selling bought-in stock as a business is a normal, supported way to use it.
The rules and fees differ by seller type, so check eBay's own pages:
- Your own things. eBay says it is free for UK-based private sellers to sell (motors excluded), with no final value fees. You get 300 free listings a month, then 35p for each extra listing.
- Stock you bought to resell. eBay's business seller policy says sellers must register as a business if "they sell items they have bought to resell".
- Business fees. Business sellers pay a final value fee that varies by category and is worked out on the item price, postage and taxes. On top of that there is a per-order fee of £0.30 on orders of £10 or less and £0.40 above, plus a regulatory operating fee of 0.35% of the sale.
Picking products for eBay works like picking what to list on Vinted, with more data behind it. Our guide on what to sell on eBay walks through the research. The hard part is the workload. Researching products, writing listings, watching supplier stock and prices, and placing orders by hand gets heavy once you pass a hundred listings, which is the work Ecomli's automation is built to cut. If you want to see what that costs before you read further, Ecomli's plans start at $29 a month.
How to do this in Ecomli
Ecomli is our product, so read this section as the maker describing its own tool. It is a non-API browser extension for eBay dropshippers. It works through the eBay seller account already signed in to your desktop Chrome browser, so there is no API connection to authorize. Amazon and AliExpress are the suppliers, and eBay is where you sell.
- Find products with evidence of demand. Product Hunting researches an eBay seller's sold history or current listings and matches those products to Amazon or AliExpress. You can filter by price, keywords, reviews, Amazon FBA and AliExpress Choice. A match shows demand. It doesn't prove profit.
- Create the listing. Create Listings reads the supplier product, prices it with your markup, writes optional AI titles and AI descriptions from supplier facts, and applies one of the description templates. It then fills eBay's listing form in your seller session, up to 10 listings at once.
- Check before it goes live. Safety Shield screens products, AI copy and the eBay draft for flagged brands and restricted items before publishing. It is a checkpoint, and the decision to list stays with you.
- Keep price and stock in line. Stock Monitoring checks supplier stock and prices for your Ecomli listings, then updates the eBay price and quantity or ends out-of-stock items by your rules. If a supplier read fails, the listing is left unchanged.
- Order from the supplier. Starter uses manual ordering. On Pro, Basic Auto Ordering means you click Auto Order and Ecomli places the supplier order in your own browser. On Scale, once you turn it on, Advanced Auto Ordering runs on Ecomli's servers and places the supplier order for new eBay orders without a click, as long as each order is within your buying limits (a maximum purchase price and a maximum loss).
- Add tracking and watch profit. Tracking Conversions converts supported AliExpress and Amazon TBA tracking into eBay-compatible tracking and adds it to the eBay order after automatic checks. The Overview dashboard shows eBay sales, fees, Promoted Listings costs, refunds, supplier costs and recorded profit by day or period.
Most of these tasks run in your browser while it is open, so plan regular check-ins. The Vinted habits carry straight over: brand and size in the title, clear photos, and prices set against what similar items actually sell for. Whether a store earns anything still depends on your products, your prices, your suppliers and buyer demand. Frequently asked questions
What are the best things to sell on Vinted?
Branded clothes that buyers search for by name sell best: high-street labels such as Zara, H&M and Next, Nike and Adidas sportswear and trainers, Levi's 501s and other denim, good outerwear, children's clothing bundles and small accessories. They share two traits. Buyers can find them by brand and size, and they are light enough that shipping keeps the checkout total reasonable.
What does Vinted sell?
Vinted is a second-hand marketplace best known for clothes, shoes and accessories. Its help center lists these selling categories: Women, Men, Designer, Kids, Home, Electronics, Entertainment, Hobbies & collectables, and Sports.
What should you not sell on Vinted?
Vinted's catalog rules ban counterfeits, used cosmetics, sanitary products, medicines, food and drink, weapons and pointed blades, electrical devices that don't work, vape-related items and stolen goods. Beyond the rules, avoid unbranded fast fashion, heavy low-value items and worn-out basics, because they rarely sell.
What's best to resell on Vinted?
Vinted says standard accounts can't be used to sell professionally, and that includes buying or sourcing items and reselling them at a profit. If you want to resell for profit, you need a Vinted Pro account, which requires you to be registered as a business. Branded clothing and trainers are the usual focus for Pro resellers, for the same search reasons that make them sell for everyone else.
How can I make money quickly on Vinted?
List your best branded pieces first, write titles with brand, item, size and color, shoot in daylight, price against similar listings, and offer bundle discounts. Vinted's 2025 trend data named Sunday as the most popular day for sales, and payment arrives within 2 days of a completed order, so shipping quickly gets you paid sooner.
Is it really worth selling on Vinted?
For clearing your own things, yes: there are no seller fees and listing is free. As ongoing income it is limited by how much you own, and reselling bought-in stock needs a Pro account. Sellers who want to keep going usually move to sourcing stock and selling it as a business.
Does Vinted charge sellers fees?
No. Vinted says there are no fees for uploading or selling items. Buyers pay the shipping and a Buyer Protection fee, usually 3% to 8% plus £0.30 to £0.80, at checkout.
Can you turn Vinted selling into a real business?
Selling your own clothes stops when your wardrobe is empty. Turning selling into a business means registering as one, sourcing stock you can buy again, and usually selling across broader categories, for example on eBay. That comes with real costs and real risk. Ecomli cuts the repetitive work of running an eBay dropshipping store, but the product and pricing decisions stay with you.
