Which categories are included?

The presets cover the standard “most categories” rate, the shared Books & Magazines, Movies & TV and Music rate (vinyl records and NFTs excluded), and eligible trading cards and comic books. Store subscriptions change both the percentage and tier threshold. NFTs are excluded from the cards preset. Check your exact category against the official fee table below before choosing a preset.

Categories such as jewellery, watches, bullion, athletic shoes, some electronics and industrial equipment can use different rates or thresholds. Use a custom flat rate only when your actual fee is flat; it does not model those tiered or whole-sale threshold rules. Vehicles, real estate, eBay Live, combined orders and multiple units are outside this estimate.

Why does buyer sales tax change the fees?

eBay includes buyer sales tax in the amount used to calculate final value and General ad fees. That tax is not money you keep. This calculator includes it in the fee base, then keeps it out of your revenue.

What else should I include?

Put packaging, insertion and upgrade fees, any tax on seller fees, subscription allocation and a realistic returns allowance in Other costs. Priority campaign advertising is charged per click: allocate that expense there too. Avoid counting supplier delivery in both product cost and shipping.

Special shipping rules, refunds, credits, currency conversion and income tax are not calculated. The example starts with zero buyer sales tax and no advertising; replace those values with your own.
