What the AutoDS Chrome extension does in a browser tab
AutoDS Helper is the extension most people mean. Its help center article, last updated August 18, 2026, describes two jobs: importing products and copying buyer addresses. It needs an active AutoDS account, and it imports into any store you have connected to AutoDS, including eBay, Amazon, Etsy, Facebook, Shopify, TikTok Shop, Wix and WooCommerce. The help center's supplier table lists 25 suppliers, each available in its own set of regions.
The importer works three ways:
- Search from the toolbar. You pick the stores to import into, the suppliers to search and the "Ships From" region, then type a keyword. The extension opens each supplier's results in a new tab.
- Import one product. A "+" button appears on product images while you browse a supported supplier. One click sends that product to AutoDS.
- Import a page at once. Clicking the Helper icon on a supplier page opens a table of every product it detected. You tick the ones you want and import them together.
Products arrive as drafts by default. A setting in the extension switches this from "Draft to Store" to "Publish to Store" if you want imports to go live straight away. AutoDS's eBay page for the extension also lists bulk extraction of product IDs with a CSV export, and a tool that clears saved addresses from an Amazon buyer account.
The second job is the Order Address Copier. When you fulfill an order by hand, you copy the buyer's address from the AutoDS Orders page, with or without the phone number, and the extension fills the checkout form on eBay, Amazon, AliExpress or Walmart. It saves retyping and cuts copy errors on a task that is pure clerical work.
What the Helper doesn't do matters as much. It doesn't price anything, watch suppliers or place orders by itself. AutoDS lists two ways to connect an eBay store: through eBay's API, or through a non-API connection it calls MIP. The "AutoDS eBay Manual Dropshipping" extension serves the non-API route. Its store listing describes it as giving you AutoDS's automation "without the need to connect to your eBay store" and lists these features:

Where an AutoDS Chrome extension import meets eBay's listing fields
A supplier product page and an eBay listing don't share a format. The supplier gives you a marketing title, a gallery and a loose category. eBay wants a structured record: a leaf category, item specifics, a title that fits its limit and condition details. An import gives you the raw material for that record, not the finished record.
Titles come first. eBay's listing best practices tell sellers to "use all 80 characters and focus on relevant keywords." Item specifics come next. eBay's best practices say "you'll be prompted to add required information, like size, color, brand, and style, but don't stop there," and suggest adding extra product identifiers so items show up in more search results. Suppliers rarely publish those fields in eBay's vocabulary, and which ones are required depends on the category you pick. After any import, check these fields by hand:
- Leaf category. A plausible category isn't always the one buyers browse, and it decides which specifics eBay asks for.
- Brand and model details. These are often missing from supplier data.
- Title length and word order. Supplier titles often run long and bury the search terms.
- Variations. Sizes and colors that look tidy on the supplier page can arrive as a flat list.
- Shipping, handling and returns. These are your decisions on eBay and don't come from the supplier page.
So importing a thousand drafts is fast, and finishing a thousand drafts to eBay's standard is not. Volume at the capture stage turns into a backlog at the quality stage unless the tool you import into does more of the listing work.

Two more costs sit under any subscription. The first is eBay's own fees. The second is your own time. A workflow that needs you to open a tab, click and finish every record has a labor cost per listing that grows with the catalog.
Margin math the import button skips
An import is a one-time event. Once the product is live, the eBay price stays wherever you set it, while the supplier's price and stock keep moving. Every supplier price rise comes straight out of your margin until you notice it. eBay's final value fee is a share of the total sale, so it doesn't shrink when your margin does. If you use Promoted Listings, that ad fee also comes off the sale price. Returns cut deeper still, because you refund the buyer in full while the supplier's return terms may be narrower than eBay's.
None of that shows up at the moment you click import. It shows up weeks later, when a listing that looked profitable has quietly slid below cost, or when a buyer orders something the supplier no longer has. A capture tool has no ongoing relationship with the products it imported, so catching those changes falls to monitoring and to you.
