eBay Banner Size (2026): Every Store Image Dimension

eBay Banner Size (2026): Every Store Image Dimension

Quick answer: the eBay banner size for a Store billboard is 1280 x 290 pixels, uploaded as an image under 12MB. Your Store logo is 300 x 300 pixels, featured category images are 300 x 300, the clickable marketing banner is 640 x 640, and eBay's image guide lists 640 x 360 for a banner collection image.

  • Upload the billboard and logo in Seller Hub under Store, then Edit store; the marketing banner sits in its own "Use a Marketing Banner" section.
  • A 1280 x 290 billboard is about 4.4 times wider than it is tall, so keep words and your logo near the middle and preview it on a phone.
  • Store images only appear if you have an eBay Store subscription, and they brand the storefront, not your individual listings.
  • Ecomli, a non-API browser extension for eBay dropshippers, carries the same colors and an optional store banner into the descriptions of listings it creates for you.

Most sellers search for the eBay banner size once, right after they subscribe to a Store and open the editor to find an empty gray strip across the top of the page. The number is easy to find. What takes longer is everything around it: which of the five Store images is which, what the file limit is, where each one is uploaded, and how to design a strip that wide so it still reads on a phone. This guide puts all of it in one place, using eBay's own help pages and image guide as the source for every dimension.

eBay banner size: every Store image dimension in one table

eBay uses the word "banner" for two different things on a storefront, which is why so many sellers upload the right picture to the wrong slot. The billboard is the wide header across the top of your Store. The marketing banner is a square, clickable tile further down the page that links to a promotion, a category or a single listing. Both are covered below, along with the logo and the images that sit on your featured categories.

The billboard, logo, marketing banner and video limits come from eBay's Managing your eBay Store help page. The featured category and banner collection sizes come from eBay's Store image guide, which also links to free template tools preset to these dimensions. Where eBay does not publish a file limit, the table says so rather than guessing. If eBay changes any eBay banner size in future, its image guide is the page to recheck.

One practical note before you design anything: these images belong to the storefront, and the storefront only exists on a Store subscription. If you are still deciding whether a Store pays for itself, our eBay Store subscription guide walks through the tiers and the free listing allowances that usually decide it. Listing photos follow separate rules, which we cover in the eBay photo resolution and image size guide.

How to add or change your eBay Store banner

All of the storefront branding lives in one editor. On a desktop browser the path is short:

  1. Open Seller Hub and select the Store tab.
  2. Choose Edit store from the menu on the left.
  3. For the logo, select Add logo and upload a 300 x 300 file.
  4. For the billboard, open the Tell your story tab and pick a standard or carousel billboard, then upload your 1280 x 290 image.
  5. Add the Store description under the About tab if you want one; eBay caps it at 1,000 characters and translates it for visitors who browse in another language.
  6. Save, then open your Store as a buyer would and check it on a phone.

The carousel option needs at least two of three saved elements: a billboard image, a Store video or a Store description. With fewer than two, eBay shows a single image or no billboard at all. eBay's help page also mentions a "Generate with eBay" button that creates a billboard image for you, which is a reasonable placeholder while you build a proper one.

A word on the Store name, which sits in the same editor. eBay lets you change it, but its own help page advises against doing so casually: saved bookmarks and outside marketing links stop working, and search engines may treat the renamed Store as a new site. Pick the banner design to fit the name you have, not the other way round.

Designing for eBay banner size: a 1280 x 290 billboard that reads on phones

The billboard's shape is the hard part of the eBay banner size. At 1280 by 290 pixels, the image is roughly 4.4 times wider than it is tall. On a laptop that reads as a calm header. On a phone, the same strip shrinks to the width of the screen, so the height you have to work with gets small fast. A design that looks balanced in your editing tool can turn into a thin band of unreadable text.

Five habits keep it legible:

  • Build at the exact eBay banner size of 1280 x 290. Uploading a different shape invites cropping or stretching that you did not choose.
  • Keep the important part in the middle. Put your Store name, logo mark and any short line of text in the central area and leave the outer edges for background color or pattern.
  • Use one short line of text, or none. Your Store name already appears on the page. A billboard that repeats a slogan in small type adds clutter, not information.
  • Choose high contrast. Light text on a busy product photo disappears at phone size. A solid or softly blurred background holds up better.
  • Preview before you publish. Open the saved Store on your own phone. If you have to squint, cut words until you do not.

Product photography in the billboard is fine as long as it is yours to use and it represents what you sell. For a dropshipping store with a broad catalog, a clean color field with your logo often works better than a collage of items that may sell out next month. That way the header stays accurate when your inventory turns over, and you are not redesigning it every season.

Save a layered source file, not just the exported JPG or PNG. When you run a promotion or change your color scheme, you will want to edit the text without rebuilding the layout from scratch.

Marketing banner, featured categories and the banner collection

The square images further down your storefront do more selling than the billboard, because buyers can click them.

Marketing banner (640 x 640). In the Store tab, find "Use a Marketing Banner" and select "Add a banner." eBay lets the banner link to a promotion, a Store category or a specific listing, and you edit or remove it later with the pencil icon beside the image. Treat it like a shop window: one offer, one image, one destination. A banner pointing at a seasonal category or a sale event earns its space far more often than a general welcome message.

Featured category images (300 x 300). You can feature up to six categories, each with a square image. eBay only displays a category on the storefront if it holds at least one active listing, so a featured category you have sold through will quietly vanish. If you have not built your category tree yet, start with our guide to setting up eBay Store categories, because the images only make sense once the shelves exist.

Featured listings. Below the categories, eBay allows up to four rows of listings with up to six listings per row, under titles such as Featured listings, Best Sellers or Items on Sale. These pull from your live listings, so no extra artwork is needed.

Banner collection image (640 x 360). eBay's image guide lists this size alongside the others. If your editor shows a banner collection option, design for that wide rectangle; if it does not, you can skip it.

To keep these images current, check them whenever you change a promotion or retire a category. Seller Hub is where most of that housekeeping happens, and our eBay Seller Hub guide shows where each tool lives.

Carrying your Store branding into every listing

Here is the gap most sellers miss. A buyer who lands on one of your listings from eBay search often never sees your storefront at all. The billboard, logo and marketing banner only appear on the Store page. The listing page shows your photos and the item description you wrote. If you want buyers to recognize your brand, the description is where that recognition has to happen.

That is where Ecomli fits. Ecomli is a non-API browser extension for eBay dropshippers: it works through the eBay seller account already signed in to your desktop Chrome browser, so there is no API connection to authorize. It does not design or upload your Store billboard, which stays in Seller Hub. What it handles is the listing side of the same brand:

  • Description templates. Description Studio, included on every plan, offers more than 30 mobile-friendly HTML designs with your colors and store branding, plus an optional custom store banner and a desktop and mobile preview before you save. Use the same colors as your billboard and the listing feels like part of the same shop.
  • Image templates. On Pro and Scale, image templates apply a consistent layout to the first gallery photo. They follow eBay's photo rules, so they arrange your real product image rather than adding text or borders to it.
  • Create Listings. When Ecomli builds a listing from an Amazon or AliExpress product, it applies your chosen description template automatically, so branding stays consistent across hundreds of listings without copying HTML by hand.

Two limits are worth knowing. Templates apply to listings Ecomli creates or relists; Ecomli does not restyle listings you made elsewhere. And keep description headers modest: a large banner at the top of a description pushes the product facts below the fold on a phone, a point we cover in our eBay listing templates guide. A slim header with your logo, then the item summary, is the layout that holds up. You can see how templates sit alongside the rest of the toolset on the Ecomli platform overview, and plan details are on the pricing page.

A short consistency checklist ties it together:

  1. Pick two brand colors and one font style, and use them in the billboard, the logo and your description template.
  2. Use the same logo file, cropped square for the Store and kept small in listing headers.
  3. Point the marketing banner at the category or promotion you most want buyers to browse this month.
  4. Write descriptions that lead with the item facts; our guide to writing eBay listing descriptions covers the order that converts.
  5. Recheck the Store and three random listings on a phone after any design change.

Frequently asked questions

What size is the eBay Store banner?

The eBay banner size for the Store billboard, the wide strip across the top of your storefront, is 1280 x 290 pixels and must be under 12MB. The square marketing banner further down the page is 640 x 640 pixels.

How do I add a banner to my eBay account?

You need an eBay Store subscription. In Seller Hub, open the Store tab, choose Edit store, then upload the billboard in the Tell your story tab. The clickable marketing banner is added from the Use a Marketing Banner section of the Store tab.

What are the dimensions of the eBay shop category image?

Featured category images are 300 x 300 pixels. You can feature up to six categories, and a category only shows on the storefront while it contains at least one active listing.

What picture format is best for eBay Store images?

Export standard JPG or PNG files at the exact pixel size for each slot and keep them under the 12MB limit. PNG keeps logo edges and text sharp; JPG keeps photographic billboards smaller.

Does the Store banner show on my listings?

No. The billboard, logo and marketing banner appear on your Store page. To brand individual listings, use a consistent description template, such as the Description Studio designs in Ecomli for listings it creates.

The storefront gets your billboard, logo and marketing banner; the listings get your description template and image layout. Ecomli's Description Studio and image templates handle the listing half, so every item you create from Amazon or AliExpress carries the same look as your Store.
